Abbey grew up training as a competitive dancer in Oakville, Ontario, where dance quickly became both her passion and her identity. Navigating her own journey with scoliosis while continuing to train and perform gave her firsthand insight into the physical demands of dance, and the importance of smart, supportive cross-training.
She completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University, where she danced on the varsity team and served as Conditioning Coordinator, developing strength and injury-prevention programs for dancers. Abbey later earned her Master of Physical Therapy from Western University and now combines clinical expertise with lived dance experience.
Through Pivot Dancer, Abbey helps dancers build strength, control, and resilience, so they can move with confidence, reduce injury risk, and perform at their highest level. She believes dancers are powerful athletes, and their training should reflect that.
