Born in Fort Collins, Colorado, and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Rebekah Rimsay trained at Canada’s National Ballet School.

After graduating in 1990, Rebekah joined the National Ballet of Canada and was promoted to First Soloist in 1998.  Her repertoire with the National Ballet of Canada has included lead roles in La Fille Mal GardeeThe NutcrackerGiselleThe Sleeping BeautyWashington SquareDon QuixoteOnegin, and Madame Butterfly.

She was promoted to Principal Character Artist in 2012. In 2014, Rebekah was awarded the Rolex Dancers First Award for her portrayal of the Stepmother and Stepsister in Cinderella. She was also the recipient of the William Marrié Award for Dramatic Achievement for Carabosse in The Sleeping Beauty in 2010 and she won the same award for her role as Her Other Stepsister in Cinderella in 2004. Rebekah Rimsay was honoured with the David Tory Award in 2008.
