THE PIVOT ADVANTAGE

A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors Human Ecology) from Brescia College. She completed her internship experience with the Toronto Shared Dietetic Internship Program in 2001.

Sarah has practiced dietetics extensively over the last 10 years in a variety of healthcare settings such as acute and ambulatory care, home care and private health clinics. This wealth of experience has allowed her to specialize in the area of weight management and the often-seen metabolic cluster of complications such as diabetes, pre-diabetes, insulin resistance, hypertension (high blood pressure) and dyslipidemia (high cholesterol).

Aside from attending conferences to remain up to date on the most current nutritional therapies, Sarah has also obtained several certifications/training. In 2009, she obtained her Diabetes Educator Graduate certificate from the Michener Institute as well as her Certification in Adult Weight Management with Dietitians of Canada and the Canadian Obesity Network. Sarah also recently obtained her Certificate of Training in Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management through the American Dietetic Association.

Her focus is ‘family nutrition’, with the intent of providing nutritional care where ‘prevention’ is at its ‘purist’. She applies her fresh and compassionate approach to the nutritional management of individuals and families, ranging from ‘sub-fertility’, prenatal, pregnancy, school-aged nutrition considerations and healthy, active living. Using her expertise in weight management and ‘often present’ metabolic conditions, like diabetes, insulin resistance, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, she empowers her clients to invest in their health and acts as accountability to achieve realistic goals.

Sarah is an active member of the Dietitians of Canada, the College of Dietitians of Ontario, the American Dietetic Association, the Canadian Diabetes Association and the Canadian Obesity Network.
