Christine Flores is a professional dancer from Toronto, Canada and began her training at Sean Boutilier Academy of Dance Etobicoke. For 10 years she competed across Canada and the United States in all genres of dance. Christine received top awards and titles including Mini and Junior Miss CanDance. She attended New World School of the Arts in Miami, FL on merit scholarship and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance. While attending NWSA, she worked closely with Kyle Abraham, Germaul Barnes, Eduardo Vilaro, Rodney Hill, and Patricia Lent. Christine has received additional training at the Hubbard Street Dance Chicago Summer and Winter Intensives, the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive, Merce Cunningham Fellowship Workshops, and the prestigious Contemporary Program at the School at Jacob’s Pillow. She was also privileged to attend Springboard Danse Montreal where she performed “More than a Step” by NDT 2 rehearsal director/Chuthis. company director Peter Chu.
Christine has worked on stage with various professional dance companies as well as on television and print commercials. She choreographed and was a featured dancer in Hozier’s Almost (Sweet Music) music video, with Disney star Cameron Boyce. Christine has performed in the critically acclaimed Company XIV’s production of “Cinderella” & “Nutcracker Rouge”, directed by Innovative Theater award-winner Austin McCormick. She was privileged to perform with Pam Tanowitz Dance around the US and London, UK in many works, including “Four Quartets” what the New York Times calls “The greatest creation of dance theater so far this century”. Christine was featured in the New York brand TOME’s RTW 2018 fashion show at the Kitchen, NYC with fashion model JoAni Johnson. She performed in the NYC production of “A Primitive Cinema” by New York Times acclaimed choreographer Emma Portner (Justin Bieber’s “Purpose the Movement” tour and music video). She was privileged to perform in the immersive theater production “The Golden Lotus” directed by 2014 Drama Desk winner Ed Iskandar and choreographed by Chase Brock, who the New Yorker and the New York Times call “prolific”. She was featured in the Coca Cola advertisement campaign for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. Some of her other credits include being a member of the NBA Toronto Raptors Mini and Junior Dance Pak, Tide with Febreeze commercials, the FIFA U-20 World Cup opening ceremonies, IKEA commercials, Boys and Girls Club commercials, and Zellers commercials. Christine has also worked with international choreographers such as Marguerite Donlon and Sarah Chiesa. While living in New York, Christine has also performed the works of highly acclaimed Netta Yerushalmy, Dylan Crossman, Caleb Teicher, Christopher Rudd, Jeffrey Docimo, Bo Park and Miles Keeney. Christine traveled to Mexico City to perform at the renown Palacio de Bellas Artes with Tania Perez Salas Dance Company.
Christine has taught master classes all over Canada and the US, including Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, American Dance Festival Cleveland, FRESH Dance Intensive, Beyond Movement Intensive, Sean Boutilier Academy of Dance, Emotions Dance Studio and helped assist MacArthur Genius grant winner Michelle Dorrance at the world famous American Ballet Theatre. Christine has been awarded for her outstanding performances and exemplary work ethic. She was recipient of the Marcia Simon Kaplan scholarship and Honors Dance Award at New World School of the Arts/Miami Dade College. Christine was on merit/tuition exemption scholarships all four years of college from the Florida-Canada Linkage Institute and New World School of the Arts. She has continued to work on her own choreography, showcasing it at the College Student Choreographic Performances at New World School of the Arts.
Christine is continuing work in both the concert and commercial worlds of dance!
