A native of Tacoma, WA, Lauren is currently a Soloist with The Sarasota Ballet in Florida. She has performed lead and featured roles in ballets by renowned choreographers including Balanchine, Ashton, Robbins, Tharp, Taylor, Graham, and Macmillan. Prior to joining the Sarasota Ballet in 2018, Lauren danced professionally with The National Ballet of Canada, and spent time training, performing, and teaching in Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco, Pennsylvania, and Amsterdam. Lauren holds a double major from California Baptist University. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Kinesiology, and a BS in Sport and Performance Psychology. Lauren recently had the opportunity to present a workshop on establishing professional ballet as a high performance field at the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) regional conference held at IMG Academy. Lauren is enrolled in the MS Sport and Performance Psychology program through the University of Western States in the fall of 2023. Lauren is passionate about increasing the knowledge and resources surrounding Applied Sport and Performance Psychology for all high level athletes and performers, with a specific emphasis on the ballet population. Lauren received her Comprehensive Pilates Certification in 2015, and since then has gone on to acquire her Personal Training Certification and Specialization in Fitness Nutrition Certificate from ISSA, The Essentials of Performing Arts Medicine Certificate from PAMA, as well certifications for teaching Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), and The ABT National Training Curriculum.
